“I can tell you if you are not afraid then something’s wrong. God give us the spirit of fear to say, ‘Slow down. Think about what you’re doing,’” explains Command Sgt. Major Dan Page in a July 10, 2014 TruNews interview with Pastor Rick Wiles. “Final question, can this be stopped?” asks Wiles of the 36-year veteran of the St. Louis County Police Department. “To be quite honest with you, it can but it’s not going to be. But it can be, yes,” explains Page. “Why do you believe it won’t be?” asks Wiles in a follow up question with the Command Sgt. Major. “Because of the ninety seven percenters – let me give you an example of what I’m saying. This last Super Bowl the average ticket prior to that game was $240 a ticket. According to VISA and Master charges there was a large percentage of people that went bankrupt on their credit card because they went to see the Super Bowl.
“We have misplaced priorities, sir. We are focused on the here and now rather than the hereafter. And as long as grown men are more active in watching sports than getting politically involved this is not going to change. A real quick story, I was getting my hair cut this morning. Sitting in the barber shop, two men were in there," explains Page. "All they could talk about was sports. So the barber asked them about the kids on the border and they had no idea what this man was talking about. Because all they wanted to do was talk sports. So no, for that reason it’s not going to change until grown men man up and be men.”
“And my fear is, fear will overtake them at that point,” explains Wiles as the interview continues. “Right, I can tell if you are not afraid then something’s wrong,” warns Page. “God give us the spirit of fear to say, ‘Slow down. Think about what you’re doing.’”
The ninety seven percenters, an idea used to describe the number of Americans who will go along with whatever the federal government wants – it’s the 3% with the foresight to see the bigger picture that will actively resist. Closely associated with the idea of democracy or a “form of government based upon the principle of majority rule,” other circles equate democracy or a form of government based upon majority rule with communism. A concept championed by both political parties in the United States today, as we will soon see the ICE immigration raids happening across California are little more than democracy in action.
“President Donald Trump is on the verge of getting billions of dollars from Congress to recruit and retain agents to carry out the mass deportation campaign that was one of the central promises of his campaign,” explains author Jonathan Allen in a June 27, 2025 NBC News article titled, “Congress set to hand Trump billions to recruit more ICE agents.” According to the report, “The issue, a key tenet of his MAGA movement for a decade, helped him win back the White House in 2024. It remains his strongest issue, with 51% of adults approving of his handling of immigration and 49% disapproving, according to an NBC News Decision Desk poll powered by SurveyMonkey that was released this month.”
“But the heart of his campaign to deport millions of undocumented people has been beating more slowly than he would like,” explains Allen. “Administration officials say they can kick-start it if Congress delivers on a budget measure Trump nicknamed the ‘big beautiful bill,’ which would spend billions of dollars to boost the ranks of border agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.”
“In Los Angeles, where the administration has met resistance from state and local officials, as well as protesters, Trump deployed the National Guard to protect federal agents and Marines to bolster the Guard,” continues Allen. “’Critics predict that new money, and new agents, will mean a landscape that looks like Los Angeles across the country.’
“’It’s going to be unrecognizable in American history, the level of immigration enforcement, street harassment, that you will see by border patrol, ICE and all the law enforcement they have helping them out,’ said David J. Bier, director of immigration studies at the nonpartisan, libertarian-oriented CATO Institute.
“’The average American probably hasn’t seen an ICE raid in action, but they will if this bill passes,’ Bier said. ‘It’s going to be everywhere.’”
With a dystopian nightmare literally knocking on our doorsteps with much of the countries head still firmly planted in the sand, a closer look at exactly what the majority has approved of yields troubling results. The totality of which once only thought possible in Hollywood cinematic drama or biographical novels where it’s the protagonists’ lived experience or somebody else’s problem – not our own.
“On June 24th an individual was arrested after officers discovered red and blue lights hidden under the vehicles visors, multiple police style radios, a firearms magazine, IHS and CBP labeled documents and copies of passports in an unmarked vehicle,” explains Huntington Park Mayor Arturo Flores in a June 27, 2025 Fox 11 Los Angeles YouTube video titled, “‘Who ARE These People?’: Mayor demands answers from masked agents | Fox 11 LA.”
“The registered owner of the vehicle claimed that he used to work for Customs and Border Protection but had no valid credentials. What this individual was doing with those items remains under investigation, but the presence of law enforcement style equipment without any verified authority raises serious concerns,” explains Flores. “When people cannot trust who is enforcing the law public safety is undermined and fear begins to take hold.
“These are not isolated fears. Across the region residents are reporting encounters with individuals claiming to be federal agents, driving tented and unmarked vehicles, wearing plain clothes and refusing to show identification. One recent incident prompted a resident to ask, ‘Who are these people?’ And frankly, the vests that they are wearing look a lot like they were ordered on Amazon,” explains Flores. “Are they bounty hunters? Are they vigilantes? These questions reflect a larger breakdown of trust and accountability.
“In Huntington Park, where many families are mixed immigration status, this kind of ambiguity is not only unacceptable – it’s dangerous. When ICE and other federal agencies choose to operate in secret, with no transparency, they don’t just enforce a law, they incite fear. We cannot allow bad actors, whether they are rogue individuals or unauthorized impersonators to exploit this confusion, to intimidate and extort our community,” explains Flores. “This is why on Wednesday night the city council took decisive action and passed a resolution directing our police department to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be a federal immigration agent in our city.
“Let me be clear, Huntington Park is not attempting to obstruct legal federal operations. What we are saying is simple, if you are acting with federal authority – then show it. Identify yourselves; do not hide behind unmarked vehicles, face masks and vague credentials. Local law enforcement has spent decades attempting to build trust between the community and law enforcement.
“These actions by federal agencies only serve to erode that trust,” explains Flores. “It is a slap to the face of thousands of brave men and women who have sacrificed so much to earn that trust. There is a better way to conduct enforcement, one that does not terrorize neighborhoods or blur the lines between lawful action and dangerous intimidation or dangerous imitation, excuse me. So to that end, I invite Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to openly and publicly discuss these issues. This is not how immigration enforcement in America should be conducted.
“Masked agents, unmarked vehicles and refusal to identify yourself is not the image of a just and lawful government. It is the image of fear. You are targeting communities that are overwhelmingly made up of hardworking families, many who have been in this country for decades, who contribute to our economy, raise children, that serve this nation and who are deeply woven into the fabric of American society,” explains Flores. “The only reason we are in this position is because Washington has in fact failed to act. Congress has refused to pass comprehensive immigration reform and now local communities like ours are paying the price.”
With plenty of blame to go around, the actual reasons for the immigration problems in the United States are legion with much of the responsibility falling at the feet of former President Barack Obama. Not unlike a proverbial political minefield set for future administrations to reap; whether through long term strategy or the natural order explanations for opening up the border range from the Left stacking the deck politically to outright replacement theories with a dash of humanitarian sentiment sprinkled in between.
“’Breaking news now in Huntington Park where federal agents forced their way into a home. NBC 4’s Lauren Coronado joins us live from the neighborhood,” explains anchor Annabelle Sedano in June 26, 2025 NBCLA YouTube video titled, “Video shows federal agents blast their way into Huntington Park home.”
“Jenny Ramirez and her boyfriend and kids live in this home – they are all U.S. citizens. She tells me a neighbor called her telling her Border Patrol was outside her home. She was frantic,” explains Coronado. “She says she jumped out of bed, you can see she’s actually in the bedroom where you now see shattered glass here. Her neighbor telling her Border Patrol was outside; we’re actually working to talk with Border Patrol to find out more about their role in this situation.
“But Jenny tells me she jumped out of bed with her 1-year old kid to check on her 6-year old and then she heard a loud explosion. ‘I just heard the loudest, the loudest, the loudest blast of my life,’” Ramirez tells NBC 4 as security footage of the military style raid is played for the viewers at home. “’I told them, ‘You guys didn’t have to do this.’ I told him, ‘You scared my son, my baby and myself.’ We were on the floor on the hallway. It was horrible.’
“Visibly still shaken, I spoke with Jenny Ramirez about an hour and a half after federal agents forced their way into her home here on Flower Street in Highland Park a little after 6 AM. Agents could be seen using what appear to be explosive breaching equipment to get inside and even sent a drone in,” explains Coronado. “Ramirez says nobody knocked and before she knew it at least 10 agents rushed into her home with several others around the perimeter. Ramirez says she was told they were looking for her boyfriend and that when she asked why – they wouldn’t tell her. But she thinks it might be connected to a crash they were involved in in the city of Bell last Friday.”
Only one of a growing number of reports involving U.S. citizens experiencing military style raids by federal agents following the Trump administrations immigration crackdown, as it turns out we don’t have to look far to find yet another U.S. citizen swept up by conservative democracy in action.
“She’s walking along, trying to get to work and several cars, unmarked cars descend upon this group of people,” explains attorney Gregory Russell in a June 27, 2025 FOX 11 Los Angeles YouTube video titled, “Andrea Velez: US woman detained by ICE after being ambushed by unmarked cars | FOX 11 LA.”
“She ran to the LAPD officers and they didn’t give her any protection,” explains attorney Luis Carrillo as the report continues. “They let the ICE people take her away.” According to FOX 11 Los Angeles, “32-year old Andrea Velez, who is a U.S. citizen, was arrested by federal agents in L.A. while on her way to work two days ago. Now police didn’t get involved because it was an immigration operation – that is what the LAPD has said. They said that they were only there providing crowd control. The Department of Homeland Security says Velez forcefully obstructed an ICE officer. She did not enter a plea during a plea (arraignment) in federal court and that appearance took place today.”
Understanding that Huntington Park is a city incorporated within Los Angeles County and therefore not geographically distinct from the city of Los Angeles itself, it’s interesting to note the mayor of Huntington Park admitting to just how little information they have about these ICE military style raids while LAPD is all but standing down as U.S. citizens are literally kidnapped right before their very eyes. A story which has also managed to garner the attention of several other local media outlets in the area, if Trump's big beautiful bill manages to pass U.S. citizens across the country are destined to experience the Trump administrations wrath.
“We begin tonight with activists accusing the LAPD of working with federal immigration agents,” explains KCAL News anchor Juan Fernandez in a June 24, 2025 YouTube video titled, ”Activists accuse LAPD officers of working with federal agents after woman arrested in downtown LA.” According to the report, “They completely protected the ICE operation that kidnapped our people,” explains Unión del Barrio’s Ron Gochez. “KCAL Assignment Editor Mike Rogers is at the desk now with what we’ve learned about that operation and the response from the LAPD tonight,” explains yet another anchor in the KCAL News studio. “Yeah, you know what Suzie? Activists are very upset that LAPD was seen in that video. We’ll show you some more of it,” explains Rogers as they roll the footage for the viewers at home.
“This all happened around 9 AM this morning. Now, LAPD says they were originally called to the area after somebody called 911 reporting a kidnapping. When those officers got there they found that federal immigration agents were doing some sort of operation in downtown L.A. Something that they say they were unaware of. They say the crowd became a little hostile, a little, not aggressive, but a little overwhelmed here," explains Rogers. "So the officers circled around those federal agents to be able to provide protection they say for the community members.
“’Now, you can see in the video here there is a woman being placed into handcuffs and put in the back of an unmarked car. Those masked agents there are doing that. Now ICE, DHS has not said anything to us about exactly what happened here. Nonetheless though, it upset a lot of activists that the LAPD was seen in the video – they believe protecting the agents.’
“‘The terrorist attacks on our community continue,’ explains Unión del Barrio’s Gochez as the report continues. “The masked gunmen continue to kidnap people all throughout Los Angeles. And today we saw that they had direct collaboration, direct support, direct everything from the Los Angeles Police Department.”
In a world where law enforcement agencies and municipalities which are only jurisdictionally distinct from one another signal very different messages to their respective constituents, it’s interesting to note some law enforcement agencies are acquiescing to ICE altogether while other municipalities are passing resolutions requiring their police departments to authenticate the law enforcement credentials of anyone claiming to be a federal immigration agent. Facts which raise more questions than answers as U.S. citizens continue to be swept up by immigration raids throughout California; information on the ground suggests it’s only a matter of time before Trump's big beautiful bill all but guarantees Americans across the country experience democracy in action. Tyranny very much reminiscent of the Redcoats of the British Empire; “I can tell you if you’re not afraid then something’s wrong. God give us the spirit of fear to say, ‘Slow down. Think about what you’re doing.’”
