The UFC and the COVID-19 Pandemic

When it comes to getting the no nonsense truth, untouched by the hand of corporate bootlickers willing to sacrifice their journalistic integrity in order to publish a misleading fluff piece self-edited from reality; the MMA Press Room is the industry leader in truth in combat sports reporting today. We could go on, like reporting on the government plans for an influenza pandemic well before the civil unrest started in the United States or reporting on the communist Chinese support for an insurgency on the ground in the US before any media outlet in the world; but then it would just seem like we’re bragging and I would never do that. Simply put, we are the premiere source for information and truth in mixed martial arts today. While everyone else is primarily a news aggregator and social media darling, the MMA Press Room has the ability to read the field and call the play book in real time like any true pundit of combat sports should be able to do with over 25-years deep into combat sports entertainment. We don’t take orders from corporate slaves with the MMA insight of a gerbil, instead we know the sport like the back of our hand because its how we’ve lived our life since day one when Royce Gracie was running the show.

But it’s what the MMA Press Room didn’t do that should count for as much as what we have managed to accomplish in this industry. While the corporate MMA media world was rallying to shut the entire sport down in the middle of a global pandemic, with millions of Americans confined to their homes, unable to work with nothing but empty time on their hands the MMA Press Room was 100% behind Dana White and the UFC pushing forward through the lockdown despite the unconstitutional governmental overreach into the lives of an untold number of Americans across the nation.

According to episode 200 of the September 8, 2020 BELOW THE BELT with Brendan Schaub show on YouTube, the former UFC heavyweight spoke at length with ESPN MMA analyst Chael Sonnen on numerous topics in mixed martial arts today to include the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Schaub, “Yeah, I think and I don’t think, you know, fans and the media realize the precautions the UFC and Bellator have taken. Eespecially you know, Bellator’s doing a great job but, dude, what the UFC did, they were the first one. They were the Rosa Parks of this, you know, pandemic. Where they went out there and put their necks out there. To be honest, they took so much heat. So much heat from the media and from, you know, even bigger media corporations because they didn’t understand the business. And, so they took all this heat, but it’s been a huge success man,” explained Schaub..

Perhaps the chief cheerleader in the mixed martial arts media who championed against the UFC promotion pushing forward with events at the height of the pandemic was none other than combat sports personality Luke Thomas. According to the April 7, 2020 Luke Thomas YouTube channel video titled, “Let’s Clear Something Up About UFC 249,” the current CBS Sports analyst went on record as stating that, “I need to make this video. I think it’s kind of important,” explained Thomas with a heavy heart.

“I need to acknowledge a failure. If you argue on behalf of a position and it doesn’t succeed, you have a couple of choices about whether or not you need to re-consider the merits of that position, that’s true. But maybe not, you could be right and its just that the message is not getting across. But you could be wrong too, there’s a lot of different ways that could go. I’m not here to have that part of the conversation just yet. In fact, I’m definitely not ready for that part yet, but I am ready to say I have totally and completely, I think, failed to make the case to people who already weren’t  already of a similar mind that going forward in a combat sports space with shows in this particular environment is a bad idea,” explained Thomas.

Later, Thomas went on to state, “Now (that) I have gone back and reconsidered the merits of the position, I have a hard time at this point in considering them to be wrong, but my delivery of them, my various messaging on this issue has clearly not worked.”

It remains to be seen if or when Thomas will ever be willing to admit his serious miscalculations in trumpeting the call for MMA to shut down, though with the COVID-19 propaganda still in full swing in the mainstream media to this very day it’s safe to assume Thomas wont dare go against the grain until the corporate executives give the okay to cease disseminating the fake news at the publics expense. An order which will never come and will of course be fluffed up to justify the tyranny opposed on the American people until historians long into the future sort through mountain of padded statistical data. Even with the left-wing media reporting a 99% COVID-19 survival rating amongst their sea of lies, those in the MMA media lined up to scream to the skies in protest that the UFC was making a grave error.

And to be fair to Thomas, who one of the hardest workers in the MMA media, was hardly alone in calling for the very sport he makes his living covering to be shut down. As predictably, legions of brown nosing beta orbiter combat sport journalists lined up to tow the Marxist MMA media line in supporting those calling for the UFC to abandon its fans when they were needed the most. In fact, Jeff Sherwood, founder of the popular MMA website Sherdog.com, played a crucial role in shutting a UFC event down entirely according to an April 7, 2020 New York Times article where Sherwood was cited as the source of the leaked information which ultimately led to the event being cancelled and rescheduled for a later date.

To give the readers an idea of exactly how misleading and apocalyptical the initial information coming out to the American public was about the COVID-19 hysteria, according to a March 13, 2020 New York Times article titled, “Worst-Case Estimates for U.S. Coronavirus Deaths,” author Sheri Fink went on to write that, “Projections based on C.D.C. scenarios show a potentially vast toll. But those numbers don’t account for interventions now underway.” According to the report, “Between 160 million and 214 million people in the United States could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to a projection that encompasses the range of the four scenarios. That could last months or even over a year,” the report read. Later, the New York Times went on to state that, “as many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.” An absolutely astonishing toll that has fortunately proved to be wildly inaccurate.

“We’ve never seen anything quite like this,” writes TheGatewayPundit.com’s Joe Hoft in his September 5, 2020 article titled, “Judge Jeanine and Dr. Robert Hariri Confirm Gateway Pundit Reporting from Last Week – Only 9,210 Americans Died from COVID-19 Alone – the Rest Had Serious Co-Morbid Conditions.” According to the report, “Democrats, their fake news media and their ‘fact checker’ allies were completely outraged over our post reporting that only 9,210 Americans died from the coronavirus alone. The rest of the coronavirus victims in the US according to the CDC had different serious illnesses and co-morbidities,” writes TheGatewayPundit.com’s Joe Hoft.

For those paying attention, that is a far cry from the 160-million deaths initially projected by the CDC in justifying the tyrannical nationwide government overreach which put millions of Americans out of work, destroying their constitutional rights and civil liberties in the process along the way. To put this into perspect, nearly 8-20,000 Americans die every year from the flu according to a WebMD report. And in the last 6-months since the lockdown started, only 9, 210 Americans are reported to have died from COVID-19 alone.

And the more research that is done behind the veracity of the data being used to justify the unconstitutional lockdown orders, the more crooked and cooked the books appear to be. Beyond the initial estimates, the 9, 210 Americans reported by TheGatewayPundit.com is far short of the official 190,000 coronavirus victims reported by the Wall Street Journal just recently that the mainstream media would like for the public to believe is the true death toll of COVID-19 in the United States at the current time.

“COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death,” reads another CDC.gov bulletin which suggests the official numbers surrounding COVID-19 are anything but reliable and concrete. “Assumed to have caused or contributed to death,” are very different things compared to being the only cause of death and points to a much broader problem within the statistical analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic where the official numbers appear to be inflated wherever possible to give the appearance of a much more severe problem than actually appears to be the case.

In fact, according to a May 22, 2020 CNN.com article titled, “CDC and 11 states acknowledge mixing results of viral and antibody tests,” authors Arman Azad and Renee Baharaeen write that, “The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention acknowledged on Friday it had mixed together results from viral and antibody coronavirus tests on its website. Eleven states also confirmed mixing viral and antibody test results. The CDC says it's planning to separate those numbers in the coming weeks, but experts say the current method is unhelpful and potentially misleading.”

The reason this is significant is because the CDC has essentially been caught red handed cooking the books on the COVID-19 data by combining both the viral and antibody tests together.  According to the CDC.gov, “A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold.”

Note: The CDC.gov has since updated that particular section of the website and edited out the original information cited above in an apparent effort to cover up and further deceive the public on the actual data surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Again, take the time to fully appreciate and comprehend what the CDC is telling us with this information above. The antibody tests used to detect COVID-19 can render false positives over antibodies produced by the common cold. This means the data gleaned from these tests could be wildly misrepresentative of the true COVID-19 threat to the public because the data is skewed with results from the common cold which effects millions of Americans every year. The very real possibility exists that a great deal of the data being fed to the American people surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is based upon wildly inflated and fraudulent data sets purposely twisted in order to justify the infringement of constitutional rights and civil liberties of millions of Americans across the country.

Interestingly, according to an August 30, 2020 Fox8.com article titled, “New CDC report shows 94% of COVID-19 deaths in US had contributing conditions,” it was reported that, “only 6% of deaths have COVID-19 as the only cause mentioned, revealing that 94% of patients who died from coronavirus also had other ‘health conditions and contributing causes.’” Also known as co-morbidity in the medical industry, with a quick trip over to the CDC.gov website to confirm the Fox8 report we find that the above information appears to be correct, accurate and true. “Table 3,” according to the CDC.gov website, “shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned.”

Critical thinkers are in short supply in a world built around conformity, and when it comes to journalism it can be considered career suicide to do anything but tow the mainstream narrative line. These various media personalities are so fearful of producing an original idea in their fierce protection of their journalistic employment that they will literally line up to jump off the bridge with the rest of the lemmings even when the official narrative has begun to fall to pieces.

With every reason to question the official data surrounding the COVID-19 threat to public health, those who towed the official line in fear of their journalistic integrity for doing otherwise have increasingly been left with egg on their face, as their “Chicken Little” the sky is falling initial reporting has fallen flat on its face in absurdity with the very thing they feared the most, their journalistic integrity, being called into question and coming back to bite them square in the ass. Their credibility forever tarnished in supporting the shutting down of their own sport in the middle of a pandemic and abandoning their constituency when they and the UFC were needed the most. While simutaneously I might add, trampling upon Americans constitutional rights and civil liberties in the name of shakey, fraudulent and misleading data.

Complicating matters further, false positive COVID-19 tests have become increasingly common in both the UFC and NFL with even complete testing lab programs forced to a halt over the severity of the false-positive issue. With the data set already being called into question, these incidents just add fuel to the fire of the COVID-19 pandemic backlash and the resulting tyranny instituted on millions of Americans based upon fraudulently skewed and politically biased scientific data. With enough legitimate information to call into question the official narrative being pushed by politicians at virtually all levels of government, a troubling picture begins to emerge of the willingness of the average American to turn their personal freedom and individual liberty over to compromised leaders based upon the false presumption of good will and intent driven by a naïve perception of science and its infallible nature.

The perception of the medias role in delivering the truth and the reality are two different things. What may be profitable for the outlet, may not be beneficial for their viewership as ideological lines are drawn and journalistic integrity is set aside to push partisan ideas which are all too often then systematically adopted and pushed by a legion of career minded brownnosers who will say and do anything if it is perceived to help their path in the long run.

With tyrannical lockdown orders across the country causing significant hardship for millions of Americans, elements within the mixed martial arts media were moving to set upon the UFC for daring to move forward in the pandemic; shooting themselves in the foot and short changing the very fans who keep them employed and their lights on. With scientific socialism creeping into nearly every facet of American society today, including the combat sports media, fans can rejoice in the fact the MMA Press Room exists as one of the last bastions of light in the combat sports entertainment industry today where the no nonsense truth does not give way corporate bootlicking and detachment from reality.
