“The time bomb is ticking, with every second the disaster is coming closer and closer. Unlike myself, you will have nowhere to defect to unless you want to live in Antarctica with penguins. This is it; this is the last country of freedom and possibility,” explains former KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov in his now infamous 1984 interview with G. Edward Griffin. A frightening prospect once put into its proper perspective; unfortunately the vast majority of Americans have been ideologically subverted to the point of near complacency. “What is going on here? And why is this such a threat to the American people? Why are thousands of people calling us?” asks Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM) during a House Oversight Committee hearing on government efficiency according to a February 18, 2025 Forbes Breaking News YouTube video titled, “Stansbury: ‘The Treasury Folks Are Saying This Is The Biggest Insider Threat They’ve Ever Seen’.”

“For the last several weeks I’ve been talking to Treasury and OMB officials to try to get to the bottom of why Elon Musk and his team are trying to hack the treasury payment system,” explains Stansbury. “Because this is a completely nonpartisan system that literally just pays the bills of the federal government, so why are they so eager to hack this system?

“And I have to say, over the last several weeks we have literally received thousands of calls in every single congressional office. In fact, we know that our friends across the aisle are also receiving these calls because this system pays the bills of the US government. It pays our soldiers, it pays for the work that we do overseas, it pays your social security benefits, it pays your tax refunds. So why is Elon Musk and his hackers trying to access that system?”

Reason enough to pause for concern when those on the Left are the lone voice of reason in what is otherwise proving to be a MAGA cult of personality, “We work for the American people,” warns Stansbury. “So if an unelected, unvetted, individual private citizen is hacking our government systems, breaking the law, firing federal employees, dismantling statutory created agencies, withholding funds, we are going to fight you in the courts.”

Troubling accusations from a sitting member of Congress, though according to former Trump campaign attorney Jenna Ellis in a February 12, 2025 YouTube video titled, “Today’s Issues | Is DOGE Constitutional?” the matter is little more than partisan politics and completely within the purview of the presidents executive authority. “Interestingly,” explains Ellis, “DOGE actually reorganized an entity in the executive office that President Obama actually established.

“And, so as a blow to the leftists who were ready to file their initial lawsuit saying that an outside, private entity board couldn’t serve in the capacity that DOGE is, they actually are within the EOP or Executive Office of the President. There’s a congressional research insight publication, you can read it, crsreports.congress.gov, that’s titled, ‘Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Executive Order: Early Implementation.’

“So, the executive order just simply reorganized the US Digital Service as the US DOGE Service, using the same acronym as its predecessor but the executive order that Trump signed on his first day in office just simply reorganized the USDS to implement the presidents DOGE agenda. So, these people who are actually mapping the USAID, the Treasury Department, all of these things are federal employees,” explains Ellis. “They’ve been vetted; they’ve been given access which is under each of these secretaries, who are actually under ultimately the president’s executive order, which comes from Article II, Section I, that all executive authority is vested in a president.”

Though according to a February 18, 2025 The Hill article titled, “Connecticut AG: Musk’s DOGE work an ‘utter violation’ of Constitution, Appointments Clause,” things might not be as absolute as Ellis has initially suggested. “The Appointments Clause requires officials appointed by the president to be subject to the ‘consent of the Senate,’ explains author Lauren Irwin. “Several of Trump’s nominees have undergone intense scrutiny by senators and gone on to be approved for their role. The suit argues that no one elected Musk and Congress did not authorize the creation of DOGE or its efforts related to the federal government.”

“In the Constitution,” explains Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, “it says if you exercise significant authority you’ve got to be confirmed … nominated by the president, but confirmed by the Senate. That didn’t happen here.”

“Subversion is the term if you look in a dictionary or criminal code to that matter,” explains Bezmenov in a previous 1983 lecture to a group of students in Los Angeles. “Usually, it is explained as a part of activity to destroy things like religion, government system, political/economical system of a country. And usually it is linked to espionage and such romantic things as blowing up bridges, sidetracking trains, cloak and dagger activity Hollywood style. What I am going to talk about now has absolutely nothing to do with the cliché of espionage or KGB activity of collecting information.”

“Replace traditionally established institutions and organizations with fake organizations,” explains Bezmenov later on during the lecture. “Take away the initiative from people, take away the responsibility from naturally established links between individuals, group of individuals and society at large and replace them with artificially, bureaucratically controlled bodies.” An eerily accurate depiction some 40-years ago now which all but describes the presidents DOGE controversy today; Bezmenov isn’t the only patriot to suggest something profound may be on the horizon for the United States unless the people begin to collectively wake from their slumber.

“Section 4. 'The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.' Do you know what the definition of a nation is under international law? Anybody have any idea what that is? I’m glad you told me, because I’m going to tell you. Number one is they have a sovereign flag. Does Missouri not have a flag? Okay, you have a second thing. A sovereign nation must be able to prosecute an individual for treason. Treason ... Missouri has a state law for treason,” explains Command Sgt. Major Dan Page as he displays the actual state law for a group of parishioners in an August 22, 2014 Sheridan Lowrey YouTube video titled, “US President's & Congress's Treason EXPOSED by Retired US Army Ranger Command Sgt Major Dan Page.”

According to Congress.gov, among the distinguishing features of a republican form of government is, “the right of the people to choose their own officers for government administration.” An inconvenient truth which should all but exclude Musk from the conversation entirely; according to Page that is hardly the only issue facing the Trump administration over the DOGE agenda. “Obama, he said if he doesn’t get what he wants he says he has a pen and an executive order. There’s not one thing in here ladies and gentlemen that gives him the authority to do that. There is no such thing as an executive order. That’s the reason I left the military, because I told my commander that I was not going to obey an undocumented president.”

So what exactly is going on here? With Page warning of the imminent collapse of the United States while highlighting the biblical context for the three branches of government; it wouldn’t be unreasonable to presume there are parallels to be drawn to the active substitution of the traditionally established bodies of administration which Bezmenov warned about and the DOGE controversy today. Where the Senate and ultimately even Congress itself are bypassed via executive order in an effort to implement the same kind of tyrannical rule the United States initially set up a system of checks and balances to guard against in the first place. The subversion of America from within so complete and irreversible that the last country of freedom and possibility extinguishes itself to thunderous applause as the realization sets in that we have absolutely nowhere else to defect to as the time bomb continues to tick, the disaster coming closer and closer.
